Evanston 3’s Crash

Chicago rider Henry Loud upgraded to the 3's this road season. He's been doing great- snapping up the premes and racing really well. This past weekend in Evanston he had won a $50 preme and was sitting good, but was unfortunately crashed out. Though it put him out of the race, luckily only minimal damage was done to skinsuit, bike and self (a banged up knee that will hopefully heal quickly). Here's a photo by Ben and Henry's account of the crash:

It was 2nd to last turn on the last lap, we were single file and I was 5th wheel when Peter Strittmatter just slid out by himself. Jeff Wat was right behind him and I was right behind Jeff, and when Peter went down, both of us dove inside, the problem came when Jeff locked up his rear wheel trying to avoid the crash and kicked out and hit my front wheel. The next thing I knew I was sliding on the asphalt I wanted to get up but I saw people coming right at me so I stayed down in a fetal position until the pack passed. Anyway had Peter not gone down, the sprint would have been stacked! In this order, coming out of the last turn it would have been Ricardo Otero, Waylon Janowiak, Peter Strittmatter, Jeff Wat, and me... man that would have been fast. Oh well, let's hope I can stay up this coming weekend at Chicago Crit.

Get rad soon, Henry. Also of interest, Henry got a Craigslist missed connection from a starstruck female who gazed upon his awesomeness at a race a few weekends ago! Ow ow!
