Goals for the upcoming season: No Crashes.

Why did you start racing? I built up an old steel ten-speed when I was younger. I always tried to replace parts with lighter ones off other old bikes; a newer bike followed, then group rides with a local bike shop lead me to my first road race.

First Race Story: I Just remember being nervous, and having no clue on what to expect. On the first turn some rider fell and broke his hip pretty bad so then I became really nervous. I think there were three crashes and a flat right in front of me on a crowded climb, but I finished 11th out of 50 starters, so that got me pumped to do more.

1st Bicycle: A black Murray mountain bike with fluorescent orange splash that packed a parachute (garbage bag) under the seat, which I would deploy to decelerate after flying down hills, and a rocket launcher (Testers model rocket) mounted to the handlebars with an electronic trigger switch underneath the top tube for defenses against fort invaders.

Current bikes: 2009 Jamis Xenith SL with SRAM Force, 2008 Jamis Sonik for the track, 2008 Jamis Sputnik commuter, 2006 Trek 1000 with SRAM rival, Super Pink Scattante with SRAM Rival for cyclocross.

Favorite Bicycle story: all of them

Bicycle superstitions: none, I Just get really tired before every race, like yawning and almost napping at the line. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.

Dumbest thing you've done on a bike: I get very comfortable riding in traffic and do dumb things. Be safe out there kids.

Special Talents? I can fix things.
