Erik Herro

Name: Erik Herro
Age: 29
Location: Chicago
Disciplines/ Current Categories: Road 5, Cross 4
Goals for the upcoming season: Do enough races to become a Cat 4 in road and maybe a 3 in Cyclocross…train hard, place well, and have a lot of fun.
Why did you start racing? The challenge mostly…I love riding so much I thought I would see what its like to see what training are competing are like. So far so good!
First Race Story: My first race was a crit at Calumet Park, the second night of the Half Acre/Gapers Block 2009 series. It was freezing and the course was wet from on/off rain…I focused on not crashing or causing a crash and it all worked out.
1st Bicycle: Sears Rampar
Current bikes: Fuji Team Superlite with Sram Red for racing, Lemond Sarthe with Ultegra SL as an all day/sport tourer road bike, Scattante Cylocross Frameset (which shares the group with the Lemond), Early 80’s Raleigh Kodiak for all the touring I hope to do one day, Fuji Royale fixed winter bike, and an IRO Fixed Gear so I can be cool too.
Favorite Bicycle story (Does not have to be related to racing): I am a terrible storyteller…
