Age: 25
Location: Milwaukee, WI. Stalk away!
Disciplines/ Current Categories: Road; 4/5, Track; 4, Cyclocross; 2, Mountain Biking; 1.
Goals for the upcoming season: More technical skillz for mountain biking, some teamwork for road races, better mounts and dismounts for cyclocross, smarter racing for the track.
Why did you start racing? For the glory.
'Lowest Point in a Race' Story: My first 24hr endurance mountain bike race I did as a duo with Cale. On my second night lap, around three in the morning, I misjudged a log-over and fell over. I started to hyperventilate, cry and curse. By the time I got in from the lap my lights were dying and I was so pissed. Cale asked me how my lap was, I stiffarmed him and walked past. Dark Times.
1st Bicycle: An old Giant Kronos. Heavier than a hybrid (an in a Prius) but I was so proud of it. It was a beautiful bright red and white bike.
Current bikes: Blue R6 road bike and a Salsa Chili Con Crosso cross bike that share a Red/Force group, BMC TT02 track, Surly 1x1 snow bike, 2 Zion mountain bikes- a 1x9 and a singlespeed, and some non-race bikes, including a pretty vintage Gios Torino with Campy Record.
Favorite Bicycle story: I love Halloween cyclocross races. That's not really a story... but I just had to get that out there.
Bicycle superstitions: While waiting for alley cats to begin, I would think to myself, "May the lord bless me and keep me." Weird and a little creepy even to me.
Dumbest thing you've done on a bike: I was overeager and took a log over too quickly during the first lap of a 12hr race and landed on my chest/face. I did the rest of the race but after I cooled down and got stiff I realized I had bruised my ribs pretty badly. It was a painful month.
Special Talents? Gift giving.
Strengths: Descending on the road like a rock, climbing in mountain biking, sprinting in track.
Weaknesses: Caring too much.
